Choosing the perfect nightstand is the first step that starts the visual pairings in a bedroom. You have to choose the correct nightstand(s) that carries visual weight for the space and the scale of your bed. A nightstand is more than just a resting place for your phone or a book.

In my personal professional opinion, I believe you have to start with the largest accessory and work your way around it, and to me that would be your lamp - this could be a traditional table lamp, a hanging pendant or a wall sconce. After deciding which suits the space best and its position, you can now work around it with all the other accents.

When you walk into the space, it should overall have the same look and feel between all the pieces you’ve chosen. You have to take one décor style and run with it.
